Hiroshi Atsumi leads iCONM’s Business Incubator operations, and is responsibility for businesses with BioLabs. He also manages relationships with the local and central government.

In his previous role at iCONM, Dr. Atsumi developed new business and research projects as a Business Strategy Manager. Hiroshi has also worked at a life science-focused VC firm and supported several startups. In addition, he served as a part-time Instructor in Juntendo University and the University of Tokyo.

Before joining iCONM, Hiroshi started his academic career at Koch Institute in MIT. His scientific interest was to develop new therapeutic methods using biomimetics technology with nucleic acids. He enjoys interdisciplinary research and has had many rewarding collaborations.

Hiroshi earned Ph.D in Biochemistry from Osaka University, Japan, and a master’s degree in molecular engineering from the University of Tsukuba. He is an active DJ and plays music that fits your current vibe.
